Add-ons: "Church" DOMINION

The change at the top of spielbox has been almost inconspicuous. Stefan Ducksch (editor-in-chief) and Stephan Zerlik (layout) have given their all to ensure that readers are satisfied (please send feedback to redaktion@spielbox.de). We at the publishing house certainly are!
The visit to HABA was exciting, the employees are very confident and so we all look to the future with hope. Harald Schrapers met with the author of the As d'Or winner Yohan Goh at the Festival International des Jeux in Cannes and spielbox has already met with the founder of Salt & Pepper Games in Essen.
Here is a small selection of games from the magazine: Ananda, Black Forest, The Lord of the Rings - Duel for Middle-earth, Endangered, For the Crown, Skull Queen and many more.

Welcome to the first issue of spielbox in 2025! You can expect exciting content in this issue, such as a new system for board and video games (Teburu), an interview with Klaus Ottmaier from Pegasuspiele and a portrait of Biberstein Spiele.
We were in Nuremberg at the toy fair and have picked out a few games for you for the fair report.
And last but not least, this issue includes new cards for 2 games: ‘The Bee’ for Harmonies and 5 new research cards for Civolution. In the latest spielbox podcast, the two hosts talked about Civolution and SETI and you can read more about them in the magazine.

A new attempt by Lego in the world of board games. Will they do better this time in collaboration with Asmodee? Parliamentary games evening with the Spiel des Jahres jury. And Sybille and Bruce Whitehill have a long conversation in Japan with the Japanese publisher Saashi & Saashi. Endeavor - The Deep Sea, Kathmandu, Media Aetas and Time Trouble are some of the games reviewed in this issue. And, of course, there is also the annual index.

The fact that State Secretary Michael Kellner from the Ministry of Economic Affairs visited SPIEL is a great sign; however, the fact that he played ‘MÄDN’ of all games is something that should not have happened at this trade fair. This is shown by the number of reviews in this post-fair issue: 3 Chapters, Astrobienen, Bomb Busters, Boreal, Catan Energien, Clans and Glory, Die Blumenstraße, Die drei Kolosse, Dune Imperium - Uprising, Dungeon Designer, Faraway, Flowers, Lucky, Murdio Islan, Nekojima, Souvenirs aus Venedig, The Next Monstar, Tower Up.
Christwart Conrad ‘truffled’ through the halls of SPIEL and picked up a few things along the way. Benjamin Teuber tells us a little about how he came to invent games, about the new Catan - Energy, and how Catan GmbH is continuing after the death of his father. In the ‘Game elements of modern times’ section, this time it's all about games with price erosion (in the game)...

Der Ausgabe liegt die Promokarte „Torte“ zum 30jährigen Jubiläum des Spiels Tutto (Abacusspiele) bei.

Dass Staatssekretär Michael Kellner aus dem Wirtschaftsministerium die SPIEL besucht hat, ist ein tolles Zeichen; dass er allerdings ausgerechnet „MÄDN“ gespielt hat, ist etwas, das auf dieser Messe nicht hätte passieren sollen. Winner of the French Game of the Year "As d'Or" this year is "Trio". Harald Schrapers was present at the award ceremony and took the opportunity to talk to Eric M. Lang about his game "Life in Reterra", among other things.

This time, illustrator Maura Kalusky is featured in the "Art and Games" section. He is known for his illustrations for the 2F games. Sybille Whitehill spoke to Eric Dieulangard, Head of Marketing at Equinox, about the incredible Kickstarter success of the new TCG "Altered".

Reviews in this issue include Obsession, Sky Team and Hegemony.

Gewinner des französischen Spiel des Jahres „As d’Or“ dieses Jahr ist „Trio“. Harald Schrapers war bei der Verleihung dabei und hat dort auch die Gelegenheit ergriffen, mit Eric M. Lang u.a. über dessen Spiel „Leben in Reterra“ zu sprechen.
In der Rubrik „Kunst und Spiele“ wird dieses Mal der Illustrator Maura Kalusky vorgestellt. Er ist bekannt für die Illustrationen der 2F-Spiele. Über den unglaublichen Kickstarter-Erfolg für das neue TCG „Altered“ sprach Sybille Whitehill mit dem Marketingleiter von Equinox, Eric Dieulangard.
