If you do not cancel within 14 days after receiving the third magazine, the test automatically extends to a regular one-year subscription. In this case you pay the regular one-year price, starting with the fourth issue, which currently is € 56.70 for seven issues (foreign European countries: from € 62.60; overseas: € 73.40).

A regular one-year subscription will be invoiced annually.

Azul Kids marks the first-ever children’s game in the series—and in an interview with spielbox, designer Michael Kiesling has already announced more Azul games to come. For nearly 20 years, game publishers have been using the Göttingen Game Designers’ Meeting as an opportunity to send members of their editorial teams to a cross-publisher editorial seminar for professional development shortly before the event. And in Vienna, too, people help each other out: spielbox was a guest at a game designers’ get-together featuring prominent figures. Of course, we’ll be reporting on the Game of the Year awards ceremony in Berlin. A total of 21 games are reviewed in the new issue.

As it does every year, spielbox took a look around Cannes and attended the As d’Or awards ceremony. For nearly 20 years, Ryan Laukat (who serves as illustrator, author, and head of Red Raven Games) has been enriching the gaming scene, while Dávid Turczi is currently arguably one of the most creative and prolific authors. That’s why spielbox is dedicating a few pages of this issue to both of them. There are also 20 reviews, including ones for Dewan, Hero Story, Keyside, Landgut, Luthier, Propolis, Star Trek Captain’s Chair, Surikata, and Tag Team.

The special edition of spielbox (22nd year) for the fall novelties will be handed out free of charge to visitors at the entrances from 9.00 to 11.30 a.m. and at the spielbox stand (6 D100) on all days of SPIEL. It will also be available in many hotels in Essen and the surrounding area. Subscribers to the German spielbox will receive it with issue 5/2024.

It can be ordered here in the webshop for shipping costs and a small handling fee.

Traditionally, this issue contains the presentation of many new games from A to Z, which are newly released in Essen (a further part can be found in spielbox 5/2024 and of course it also contains the ever-popular checklist (yellow pages) with novelties selected by the spielbox editorial team.
